Alanna Randall served in Peace Corps Belize from 2001-2003 as an Environmental Education Coordinator. Orignially placed with Friends of Laughing Bird Caye in Placencia, Hurrican Iris quickly changed that plan on October 8, 2001. After the hurricane left her homeless, Alanna moved to Cristo Rey Village in Cayo district where she worked with Chaa Creek Natural History Centre, DuPlooy's Botanical Garden and Cornerstone Foundation. She edited and contributed to a Teacher's Resource Manual, which was accepted into the Ministry of Education's curriculum. For her secondary project, she worked with Cornerstone Foundation's Jumpstart English Program, preparing Spanish-speaking four and five year old's for the English-speaking school system.
